Homemade Pesto

One of the best things about having your own garden is being able to get fresh veggies and herbs when you need them! 

 Lemon Basil and some heirloom purple tomatoes 


Last week I my variation of pesto: 

3/4 cup of Lemon Basil 
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons of pine nuts (could substitute almonds or walnuts) 
2 gloves of garlic
salt and pepper to taste 
1/3 cup of olive oil 

 Throw it all in the food processor 


 Add the olive oil slowly pureeing 


I love that the lemon basil gives it a little extra zest and a really fresh taste!
